Thatched house. According to a local resident, the house was home to generations of the same family for approximately 150 years until a new house was built on another part of the island and the family moved home. The old house was used like a shed and recently the roof collapsed during bad weather.
Inis Mór is one of the three Oileáin Árann (Aran islands) and is located off the coast of Gaillimh (Galway). The island is part of the Gaeltacht where Irish is primarily spoken at home. According to one resident born on the island, the people born on the island live mostly on one side and people not born on the island live on the other side where the port is located.
